Registered office: Unit 8 Phoenix House, Redhill Aerodrome, Kings Mill Lane, Redhill, RH1 5JY, United Kingdom.
VAT registration number: GB183 9619 64.
Contact: hello@thewinediscoverer.co.uk.
Our registered office is a correspondence address, not a returns address.
These terms apply to purchases through thewinediscoverer.co.uk. Changes to these terms will not retrospectively change orders already accepted.
-
AGE RESTRICTIONS
You must be at least 18 to purchase alcohol from us. You must not purchase alcohol on behalf of anyone under 18.
We may require evidence of age and may refuse or cancel an order if we cannot establish that these requirements are met. Payments taken for an order we cancel will be refunded.
-
OUR WINES
Wines are sold in complete single-wine cases or fixed mixed cases, as described on the product page. A quantity of one means one case. Please check the bottle count, bottle size, vintage and case contents before ordering.
Product photographs are illustrative and labels or packaging may vary. We will not substitute a different wine, vintage or mixed-case content without your agreement.
Tasting notes reflect our assessment and personal preferences vary. They do not limit your rights if wine is faulty or does not match its description.
Wines offered through this website are supplied with applicable UK duty and VAT paid. We do not offer in-bond purchases, en primeur purchases or wine storage through this website.
-
PRICES AND PAYMENT
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT and applicable UK alcohol duty.
The minimum wine order is £180, including VAT, after discounts and excluding delivery charges.
Standard delivery to one qualifying address within our delivery area is included. Any additional charge will be disclosed before you place your order. Corporate gifts and multiple-address deliveries may require a separate quotation.
Payment is made using the methods available at checkout. Any promotional offer is subject to the conditions stated with that offer.
If we discover a material pricing or description error, we will contact you. We will not increase the price or change your order without your agreement. If we cannot fulfil the affected order, we will explain and refund the payment taken for it.
-
ORDERS AND AVAILABILITY
Please check your order and contact details carefully before submitting it. Contact us promptly if you need to correct anything.
Orders are subject to availability. If we cannot supply an item, we will contact you and refund the payment taken for it unless you agree to an alternative.
We will not supply a substitute without your agreement.
-
DELIVERY
We deliver to qualifying postcodes in England, Scotland and Wales. We do not currently deliver to Northern Ireland or British Forces addresses. Please check our Delivery Information before ordering.
Delivery arrangements and expected timing will be confirmed when your order is processed. If delivery by a particular date is essential, contact us before ordering so we can confirm whether we can meet it.
Unless another delivery period is agreed, we will deliver without undue delay and within 30 days of accepting your order. We will contact you if delivery is delayed. Your statutory rights concerning late or failed delivery are unaffected.
Please provide accurate delivery details and make arrangements to receive your order. If delivery fails, contact us to agree the next steps. Any proposed additional delivery charge will be explained and agreed before a further delivery is arranged. You will not be charged for a further delivery required because of our error.
For consumer purchases, goods remain our responsibility until they come into your physical possession or that of a person you nominate to receive them. Ownership passes once full payment has been received and the goods have been delivered.
-
CANCELLATIONS, RETURNS AND REFUNDS
Our Return and Refund Policy forms part of these terms.
If you buy as a consumer, you may cancel your online purchase without giving a reason by notifying us before delivery or within 14 days after the day you or your nominated recipient receive the goods. For one order delivered in separate instalments, the period runs from receipt of the last goods.
Email hello@thewinediscoverer.co.uk with a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You do not need our permission to exercise your statutory cancellation right.
Returns are by prior arrangement and collection only. Do not send goods to our registered office.
Change-of-mind collections cost £12 per collection, including VAT. We cover any necessary collection costs where goods are faulty, damaged on arrival or incorrectly supplied.
Because we arrange collection, cancellation refunds will be issued within 14 days after you notify us of cancellation. Please see our Return and Refund Policy for full details of refunds, collection arrangements and any lawful deduction for diminished value.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights concerning faulty, damaged or incorrectly described goods.
-
FAULTY OR INCORRECT WINE
Please contact us if wine appears corked or otherwise faulty, arrives damaged, is incorrect or does not match its description.
Include your order number and explain the problem. Retain affected bottles and packaging where practicable until we advise you. Do not handle broken glass or post leaking or broken bottles.
Consumer goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Depending on the circumstances, your remedies may include a refund, replacement or price reduction.
Opening a bottle to discover a fault does not remove your statutory rights.
-
OUR RESPONSIBILITY
We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We do not exclude or restrict liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
For consumer purchases, goods are supplied for private use. We are not responsible for business losses arising from those consumer purchases.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts your statutory consumer rights.
-
BUSINESS AND CORPORATE PURCHASES
If you purchase wholly or mainly for business purposes, consumer-specific change-of-mind cancellation rights do not apply.
Please contact us about corporate gifts, multiple-address deliveries or other arrangements requiring a quotation. Any additional terms must be provided and agreed before the order is accepted.
-
PERSONAL INFORMATION
Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected and used in connection with the website, orders and customer enquiries.
-
COMPLAINTS
Please send complaints to hello@thewinediscoverer.co.uk, including your order number where relevant, so we can investigate and seek a resolution.
-
APPLICABLE LAW
These terms are governed by English law. If you are a consumer, this does not remove mandatory protections available under the law of the part of the United Kingdom where you live.
You may bring proceedings in the courts available to you under applicable law, including the courts of Scotland if you live in Scotland.
OPTIONAL CANCELLATION FORM
You may use this form to cancel a consumer purchase, but a clear email or letter is sufficient.
